Seafood Summer - The Recooking!

As the title suggests, these lovelies were SUPPOSED to be released way back near the end of summer to fully update the round of seafood creations I apparently needed to make this year.

And then I got sick! With the actual flu of all things!

I'm fine now of course (and still COVID free!) but that did mean this release was way overdue.

Let's get right into the dishes!

Don't they look yummy?!

So to start off, we have a dish more closely tied to my Caribbean roots - Stewed Fish!

I couldn't pick just one type of fish dish to go with here as there are several from fried fish to broiled whole fish (which I am working on for something else) to baked fish. Since I wanted the baked fish dish to be its own star, I went with a stewed fish dish full of seasoned rice, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and grilled fish gently simmering in the pot still!

It is a rather large build for my normal platters at 12 LI but I really wanted this to look like someone's mom sat in the kitchen and made this with love!

Next up is the Baked Salmon!

This is actually inspired by a northeast fishing village I used to RP in called Cranberry Cove. Imagine, using roleplay for inspiration? Ha! While you can find baked salmon everywhere salmon exists, the person RPing as a cook in my character's restaurant posted baking the fish atop a bed of greens and lemons so the skin did not burn while the fish baked.

Turns out this is useful in real-life cooking too. It worked so well I took a picture of my salmon dish and made it in SL! Despite what those edges look like, I did NOT burn my fish, thankyouverymuch.

And last but not least, we have the dish that made my head spin -
The Hearty Soup Pot!

This might look simple but is in fact one of my most complicated platters so far. I realized it was impractical to make several soups on a large scale where RP decorators or event planners might have limited prims to work with, so this platter is 6 LI, has texture change to one of six soups, and also gives a bowl of each soup type. It also turns the steam on and of like all of my other foods.

The reason this was so complicated is that I didn't want to make use of a HUD or other heavy scripts for the platter to do all that it does.

Some customers who purchased recently might've gotten a new update of specific soups sent to them, but I'm not certain I got everyone yet. I'll be working on that, so if you bought a seafood soup bowl of some kind from July 2020 through to November 1st, you should be seeing a new pot in your deliveries!
